Lynley Cannon loves cats. She volunteers at a cat shelter, fosters sick cats and has six of her own whom she adores without reservation. You may call her a crazy cat lady, but her friends know she’s not quite crazy yet.
Lynley and her kitties live in Portland, Oregon in a big Victorian home that has seen better days. At fifty-eight, she relishes retirement, waking each day to a cornucopia of intriguing, altruistic and fun things on her to-do list. Researching her Scottish ancestry, cruising antique stores for that perfect find, checking out her facebook page for news of her many “friends”, and keeping in touch with her family are just a few of the non-cat-related interests that fill a normal day.
Not all days are normal, however. It’s not that Lynley attracts trouble, but she can’t turn a blind eye to it either. When home invasions threaten her neighborhood and an unknown assailant attacks her in the park, she’s not afraid to stand up and fight.
By the time she realizes her mistake, she is- as Lynley might have said back in her hippie days- up shit creek without a paddle.
