When a friend suffers a bizarre accident on the set of a television pilot, Lynley takes over her job as cat handler, only to find out the show is “hexed” and murder is waiting in the wings. —Cat Call, coming in October.
It’s hard to believe while still deep in proofing Cat Call, Crazy Cat Lady cozy mystery #4, that we have a launch date. Someday I will have finished the typo search, the fine-tuning, and the urge to edit into infinity, and there will be a real book. A published book. A book to celebrate with cat-face cupcakes and champagne (or if a you’re teetotaler like me, sparkling cherry cider)
I have the cover design, of which I’ve shown glimpses, with another beautiful cat painting by Leslie Cobb. I have the dedication: to my journalist father-in-law who passed away this year. I have my wonderful editor doing her best design work and watching my back for those pesky grammatical errors. I have two cats helping me proof. I should be all set.
I’ve chosen Thursday October 26 for Cat Call’s launch, to (almost) coincide with National Cat Day, which comes the following Sunday. What better time to celebrate a book whose hero is a dedicated cat shelter volunteer?
The event will be hosted by one of my favorite independent bookstores, Another Read Through. Elisa, owner of A.R.T., is a bookish angel to local independent authors like myself, accepting our work on its own merits without prejudice or inequality, and we love her for it. In fact, go buy a book right now and be sure to come to see Cat Call take off on its little kitty wings this October.
About NATIONAL CAT DAY
National Cat Day is observed each year on October 29th. National Cat Day was founded to help the public recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued. The day also encourages cat lovers to celebrate the cats in their lives for the unconditional love and companionship that they bestow upon them.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Pay particular attention to your cat today. Adopt a new cat. Use #NationalCatDay to post on social media.
HISTORY
This day is sponsored by the Animal Miracle Foundation and was created by Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Welfare Advocate, Colleen Paige, in 2005. Since its inception, it has helped save the lives of more than one million cats.
