Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day!
Can you believe it? Some people don’t appreciate black cats. Some even think black cats are bad. That’s because there is a myth in our culture that equates black cats to black magic, and we all know black magic is nothing to fool around with.
But black cats are not evil but just cats whose color is black. They are gorgeous, sleek, stunning, attractive, sensual and cute. Artists appreciate those qualities and have used the black cat as their modle (and muse) for thousands of years. Here are just a few.
Anyone can appreciate black cats after looking at this wonderful artwork.
A black cat in an easy chair, by Angie Rozelaar, PlanetCatStudio.
“Black Cats In Paris” by Atelier De Jiel.
Watercolor of a black longhair cat by Endre Penovac.
Fantasy cat art by Raphaël Vavasseur.

I hope you all enjoyed Black Cat Appreciation Day. My brother is a Black Cat. His name is Joel the Brave. Thanks for sharing. ~Lilly Bug from 2 Cats and a Blog.
We did enjoy the day. Little, the black little panther with the white pendant, led the party. Blaze, a tuxedo cat so therefore part-black, ran through the house with wild abandon. Tyler, who can claim blackness with the black of his tabby tiger stripes, sat by waiting for treats. A good time was had by all.
Thank you for sharing this amazing art work! I had a black cat for 15 years. He was my buddy. I lost him to a diabetic stroke. My heart broke into a million pieces that day. I miss him still seven years later. It pains me to see the discrimination black cats suffer all because of silly superstition. I support black cat rescues and encourage all my friends to adopt black cats
I’m sorry for your loss. Hopefully more people are loving black cats now.
